Markham Park is a great campground located in the town of Weston, Florida, sandwiched between Fort Lauderdale and the Everglades. The park is approx 670 acres, with the RV campground occupying a small part of it. The campsites are spacious and mostly level, with gravel spaces and full hookups for a low nightly rate. There is a variety of activities available, including a world-class Skeet Range, a large Dog Park, Frisbee golf, mountain bike trails, and a gun range. The park is also in the flyway for FLL Intl, and its fun to watch the planes land and take off. The campground is generally quiet, except for occasional noise from the gun range and boat ramp. The back of the park is set up in Cul-de-sacs with easy turns for RVs and 5th wheels, and is much nicer and private than the front of the park. However, there are some long-term campers that keep their sites looking like trash, and there is a bit of noise from the outdoor rifle range. There is public wifi available, but it is not suitable for streaming video. The water, sewer, and power hookups are adequate, but old and not necessarily conveniently or consistently placed. There is a target range at the back of the park, and constant distant gunfire can be heard at times. The pool is not open due to a lack of lifeguard, and the registration office only carries ice and firewood. There are multiple stores and restaurants nearby, but some may be 7 miles or more away.

From The Campground

C.B. Smith Park, Easterlin, Markham, and T.Y. (Topeekeegee Yugnee) Campgrounds are open to full hook-up RVs. Tent camping is allowed at Markham Park. The campgrounds at Quiet Waters are open for Rent-a-Tent camping only. Campground reservations must be done by calling the park office (or emailing) directly. Park office hours are 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily with the exception of Christmas Day, when all parks are closed.
