Although the campground needs a bit more TLC, with a few updates and some cleaning on the parks grounds, it has the potential to be great for visitors. While there are only a few pull-thru sites for those who are passing through the area, most of the spaces are occupied by full-time residents. The park is relatively inexpensive, and its close to I-75, which makes it convenient for travelers. Despite some of the issues with the park, the pool looked clean, and theres a laundry room available for visitors to use. Guests commented that the campground was quiet and peaceful, set in a secluded area surrounded by woods. Theres also a fishing pond available for those who love this activity. Although some of the infrastructure on Southern Gates RV Park & Campground is a bit aged and could use attention, many guests appreciate the friendly owners who were very welcoming and made check-in or departure comfortable. Overall, Southern Gates RV Park & Campground is a good spot for those on extended trips or passing through Southern Georgia for a night or two.
