This campground is located near downtown Atlanta and alongside a highway. It is more of a mobile home or RV park than a campground, with most of the people staying here for long-term residency. There is a small park and easy access to the nearby Sweetwater State Park, which has some wonderful hiking trails. Unfortunately, the campground is run down and many of the spots are not available due to a flood that took out the power and water. The majority of the guests are monthly renters who have turned the place into a worse than trailer park situation. Many sites have power poles that are destroyed or worse, bare wire with electrical tape. The campground is not the safest place to stay, as passing red necks shout obscenities as they drive down the nearby road. It is advised to travel further west and park in the Walmart lot, as it would be safer and nicer.
