Kolomoki Mounds State Park is a peaceful campground situated on a lake in rural Georgia. It offers a variety of recreational activities, such as kayaking, swimming, fishing, and hiking, as well as a museum and Native American mounds to explore. The campground has over 20 sites, most of which provide plenty of shade and a lake-side view. There is no cell phone reception in the area, but a visitors center is located a mile away with signal. The campground is well-maintained and clean, though there is no sewer. It is also close to Providence Canyon State Park and Fort Benning, making it a great destination for exploring the area.

From The Campground
Kolomoki Mounds State Park is the oldest and largest Woodland Indian site in the southeastern United States, occupied by Indians from 350 to 750 A.D. The park features 8 Indian mounds, a museum showcasing artifacts and a film, 2 lakes for fishing and boating, 25 tent, trailer & RV campsites, 4 picnic shelters, 1 amphitheater, 2 group shelters, 1 group camp, 2 pioneer campgrounds, 1 hammock campsite, sand beach, fishing dock, playground, and 5 miles of hiking trails. Visitors can also enjoy canoe, kayak & pedal boat rental, miniature golf, and geocaching. Nearby attractions include Albany, GA, Florence Marina State Park, George T. Bagby State Park, Providence Canyon State Park, Seminole State Park, Westville Historic Village, Elmodel WMA, and Mayhaw WMA.
