What others are saying
Shoal Creek Campground is a beautiful campground located on the shores of Lake Lanier in Georgia. It is owned by the Army Corps of Engineers and leased to Lanier Islands. The campground features multiple boat ramps, 50 amp, water, asphalt driveway, concrete pad, picnic table, fire pit, barbecue, and lantern post. The campground is close to Lake Lanier Islands and Margaritaville, either by boat or car. There is a honey wagon service for a fee but no full hookups. The roads leading to the campground are narrow and winding, so it is difficult for large rigs. The campground is peaceful and the staff are friendly, however, there have been reports of people listening to music loudly late at night and trash around the area. The sites are wooded and long and narrow with drop offs on both sides. There are also reports of out of control drinking and open drug use. The asphalt road is cracked and full of potholes and deteriorating along edges, especially in the areas where trailers/ RVs sit. The campground has recently reopened and is a great place to enjoy the lake.
