Timber Ridge is an older resort located in Cleveland, GA, just 5 miles from Helen. It is a beautiful and well-maintained campground, with a private lake, two pools, a cafe, horseback rides on weekends, free paddleboats, and other amenities. The campground can be difficult to navigate and sites a little tricky to back into, so it is recommended to drop the trailer in the boat-launch parking lot and choose a campsite first. The rate is Passport America, $20 plus a daily $5 activity charge, for a total of $25 per night. There is also a $4.00 per day charge to Mountain Lakes Resort. The campground is conveniently located to Helen and most of the scenic drives of the area, and is nine miles from town with Ingles & Walmart and a great cajun food market on the square. Unfortunately, the park maintenance uses gas powered leaf blowers on the roadway and unoccupied sites at 8:45 AM, and there is very low voltage with no use.
