Georgia Veterans Memorial State Park is a massive facility located on the shores of Lake Blackshear, offering a wide range of activities for all ages. The campground features both lakeside and forested campsites, all of which are gravel and level with a picnic table, fire ring, and two hanging poles. There is a marina, condos, a golf course, and a lodge on the resort side, and a museum and war time tank and aircraft on the park side. The park also offers a variety of activities such as fishing, boating, golf, swimming, hiking, archery, airsoft rifles, disc golf, geo caching, biking, campground crafts, model airplane flying field, private kayak and canoe tours, and a small military museum. There is a playground, 18-hole golf course, Sam Shortline train, and two restaurants accessible to campers. The campground is quiet and dark at night, with lots of wildlife roaming around. The restrooms are kept clean, and there is no outside traffic. The park is also home to Striplings General Store, which has a good selection of essentials and food, and a Sweet ICE TEA. The sites are somewhat pricey for electric and water only, but the park more than makes up for it with its many attractions.
