Doll Mountain campground is a great place to get away from it all and enjoy nature. The campground is situated on a steep-sided ridge overlooking Carters Lake, with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. The sites are well-maintained, with some offering concrete pads and decks for a comfortable stay. For those looking for some outdoor activities, there are trails leading down to the lake, perfect for swimming, fishing, and kayaking. The campground also has a playground for kids and a boat ramp for launching canoes and kayaks. The access road to the campground is quite steep and winding, so caution should be taken when driving in and out. The campground is gated and locked from 9pm to 9am, so plan accordingly if you plan on leaving the campground after dark. The campground is also home to a variety of wildlife, including raccoons, so be sure to secure your food and trash. The Doll Mountain campground is a great place to get away and enjoy some quality time with family and friends. With its stunning mountain views and access to Carters Lake, its the perfect spot for some outdoor adventures.

From The Campground
Carters Lake Campgrounds offer a variety of camping options for visitors. Woodring Branch Campground has 42 campsites, 31 of which have electrical and water hookups, while the remaining 11 sites are tent-only. Doll Mountain Campground has 65 campsites, with 39 sites having electrical and water hookups and the remaining 26 sites being tent-only. Boat-in/Hike-in camping provides 12 primitive campsites with tables, tent pads, and lantern holders. Blue site primitive campsite is an additional primitive boat-in/hike-in campsite located on the upper Coosawattee River above Ridgeway Boat Ramp. Facilities at the campgrounds include comfort stations with hot showers, boat ramps with docks, playgrounds, camper dump stations, and volunteer hosts on duty. Primitive camping spots have access to toilets and drinking water at the toilet facility. Campsites with hookups are $24.00 - $28.00 per site and $18.00 per night per site without hookups. Campsites at Woodring Branch Primitive Campground are $10.00 per site/per night on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations can be made up to six months in advance by visiting Recreation.gov or by calling (877) 444-6777.
