What others are saying
This campground is located on the US Armys Ft. Gordon installation and is only authorized for use by Active Duty, National Guard, Reservists, Retired Military, 0-100% DAV, Purple Heart Recipients, Former POW, Veteran Caregivers, DoD Civilians. It is a small campground, but the sites are awesome and level with clean concrete pads. The water saver shower is a bit strange, but there are two washers and dryers in front of the bathrooms that are free to use. The campground is very quiet, even though it is close to the shooting ranges, and it is a great place for kids to wander around the lake without having to worry about traffic. The sites are big and there are pull-thru and back-in options. However, the higher numbered sites are older and vary in length, so it is important to check with the front desk when making a reservation. The only downsides are the long drive to/from Gate #1 and the fact that the trash cans were full the two days we stayed.

From The Campground
Leitner Lake Recreation Complex offers 35 full hook-up campsites with 30/50 amp electric service, water and sewage, picnic tables and grill. The campground also has a primitive camping area and picnic area with lake front view. A modern comfort station with bathroom, showers, washer and dryers is available. The campground is managed by Fort Gordon Outdoor Recreation and is home to the Leitner Lake Conference Center.
