. This secluded campground is located 8 miles north of Hazlehurst, GA, on a dirt road turn off just before the Altamaha River. It features primitive camping spots with no water or electric hook ups, but there are showers, sinks and bathrooms near the river which is only a short walk away. The boat ramp is also located near the river, making it a popular spot for tubing and floating. There is a heated and clean bathroom, and the hosts are very attentive to the needs of campers. Firewood is provided for cold nights. The campground also takes Passport America for Sunday thru Wednesday. It is a great place for a peaceful getaway, with plenty of hiking and wood gathering opportunities. The nearby river is great for fishing, and there are plenty of nearby towns for food and gas.
