Enota Mountain Retreat is a rustic campground located near Helen, Georgia. It offers day hikes, streams, cabins, a lodge, a trout stock pond, and close proximity to the Blue Ridge, Helen, Hiawassee, and Blairsville. When my husband and I visited, we found that the natural beauty and serenity was worth any safety risks, though the facilities were quite run down and the staff had a nickel and dime approach. The organic garden, farm animals, restaurant, and laundry were not operating during our visit, and the bathrooms and laundry facilities were a mess. We found the people to be friendly and helpful and enjoyed the streams, decks, and picnic tables. However, the bath house was not up to standard and the hiking trails were hazardous. The owners policies were overly strict, and there were many upcharges. Overall, this is a rustic campground with lots of natural beauty to offer, but it is in need of better upkeep.
