What others are saying
Lake Rabun Beach Recreation Area, located in Lakemont, GA, is a serene and secluded campground with sparse activity. The campground has two loops, with loop A easily accessible from the road. The entrance to loop B is primarily for primitive camping and has a poor road that makes it challenging to traverse. The campground is a great base camp for adventures in nature, and a couple of hiking trails are located within the park, including Minehaha Falls trail, which is only a 20-minute drive from the campground. During our stay, we were able to visit nearby destinations such as Helen GA and Tallulah Gorge. The site has clean bathrooms, and the host and managers are friendly and accommodating, making our stay enjoyable. However, the campground has poor water pressure, and its remote location, winding six-mile roads to get to the site, and lack of internet connection may not suit everyone. Large vehicles may find it difficult to land at the steep sites, so campers may need additional help with boards or interlocking blocks to drive on. Overall, Lake Rabun Beach Recreation Area is a great place to escape to and enjoy some quiet time in nature.
