What others are saying about this campground
Hamburg State Park campground is a hidden gem in the outback of middle Georgia. This small, quiet park offers mostly shaded sites, with roomy and direct access to the 250 acre great fishing lake. All sites have 30/50 amp, water, table, fire pit and are on the lake, providing stunning views and beautiful sunsets. The lake is great for kayaking, but no swimming is allowed due to gators. The grist mill is open for tours on the weekends and the park ranger can provide tips on a local swimming hole just down the road. There is no cell service here, so if youre looking to stay connected, youll have to drive to the main office for Wi-Fi. The park is well maintained and the campground hosts are friendly and helpful. This is the perfect place to rest, relax and enjoy the views in solitude.

From The Campground

Hamburg State Park offers a wonderful mix of history and outdoor recreation. The campground provides hot showers, water and electric hookups, and a dump station. Anglers can enjoy fishing for largemouth bass, crappie and bream, as well as boat ramps and a fishing pier. Wildlife enthusiasts should look for turtles, alligators, raccoons, deer, birds and numerous other animals that live within the park. The restored 1921 water-powered gristmill is still operational and used to grind corn during events. The park’s museum is also open during events, displaying old agricultural tools and implements used in rural Georgia.
