What others are saying
Skidaway Island State Park is a beautiful campground located just outside of Savannah, Georgia. Nestled in a maritime forest, the live oaks and Spanish moss create an other-worldly atmosphere, and the park is surrounded by the Delta beauty of the Savannah River. The campsites are large and private, with water and electric hookups, cable, picnic tables, fire pits, and cement pads. There is no direct access to the surrounding water, but a boat ramp and swimming area are just a few minutes away. The park also offers a variety of hiking trails through the low country marshes and maritime forests, a nature center, a small store, and a playground. There is no wifi, but local TV reception is good, and Verizon 4G fluctuates between 1-2 bars. The park staff are friendly and helpful, and the roads are wide enough and well-trimmed to accommodate larger rigs. There is a Publix grocery store and gas station just outside the campground entrance, and downtown Savannah is only a 15 minute drive away. The campground is perfect for those looking to explore the area and experience the natural beauty of the South, with plenty of shade and wildlife to enjoy.
