What others are saying about this campground
**General:** George L. Smith State Park is a small campground with 25 gravel and level sites available, all with electric/water, a fire ring, lantern hook and picnic table. Additionally, there are eight cottages and four primitive campsites, many offering beautiful water views. Upon arrival and check-in, the park offers senior and military/veteran “rebates,” which are not available when reserving online. **Site Quality:** The sites are spacious with enough room for a tent, a picnic table, a fire ring/grill, and a lantern hook. **Bathhouse:** The bathhouse is clean with well-timed lighting. The showers also appeared very clean and well-maintained. **Activities:** Visitors can enjoy fishing, kayaking rentals, and hiking trails. Though the area has limited activities, the beautiful lake and scenic views add a serene and magical experience. The park also offers a unique self-guided tour of an 1880s grist mill/covered bridge. The campground hosts are welcoming and willing to help make the stay as enjoyable as possible. Note that a sketchy RV “park” can be found across the street, but the campground staff has ensured the safety of the guests from this area.
