What others are saying about this campground
Thompson Flat is a great campground for family camping, reunions, or girls camps. It features individual campsites that circle a large firepit/cooking area, metal fire rings and BBQ grills, picnic tables, and some large metal BBQ pits. There are also vault toilets and trash cans scattered throughout the campground. Unfortunately, there is no water available, so visitors must bring their own. The wildflowers in the meadows are gorgeous, and the area is great for birding, especially for the Cassia Crossbill. The campground is located near Lake Cleveland and Harrison Peak, and there is a monument dedicated to nine military men who died in a plane crash nearby. The roads through the campground are narrow and confusing, so visitors should bring a map or try to camp during the weekdays.
