From The Campground

Mackay Bar Campground is a small, primitive campground located near the north bank of the Salmon River. The campground offers three campsites with tables and fire grates. Access to the campground is via a very rough, winding road with many tight switchbacks. Low-range, 4-wheel drive is recommended, with no trailers. The campground is open year-round, but might not be accessible because of snow. There are no garbage services available, so visitors must pack it in and pack it out. The campground is located in a remote area with very limited services in the nearby town of Dixie.
