What others are saying about this campground
Thai campground is a beautiful state park located on the Snake River, just off I-84 and 1-hour south of Boise. It is a great spot for families, with a hiking trail to a nearby winery and a disc golf course, as well as a path to a park down at the river. The campground has level, clean sites, helpful camp hosts, picnic tables and fire pits, as well as a Visitors Center with a film and displays about the significance of Three Island Crossing to the pioneers on the Oregon Trail. There are also two no additional cost dump stations on the grounds. Wildlife abounds, with deer, squirrels, birds and even a group of feral cats in the nearby brush. However, there are 3 or 4 trains going through the town of Glenns Ferry at around 4am and keep sounding their horns. The campground honors Golden Age passes Monday through Thursday, and there is a shop with great Huckleberry ice cream in Glenns Ferry. Seasonally, gnats come off the nearby Snake River in the evening, so screens wont stop them.

From The Campground

Located just two miles off Interstate 84 at the Glenns Ferry exit, Three Island Crossing State Park offers a campground with water and electrical service, eight cabins, picnic areas, historical interpretive programs, and a fascinating admission-free interpretive center. Modern travelers will find a stay at Three Island Crossing much more hospitable than did the 19th century Oregon Trail pioneers who crossed the mighty Snake River at this location. Take a self-guided tour of the park and see the original wagon ruts and Conestoga replicas. Visit the Oregon Trail History and Education Center to learn more about pioneers, early settlers, and Native American history. Dangle your feet or a line in the Snake River where emigrants made their historic crossings. Or sit under a tree and enjoy a picnic lunch.
