This campground is a hidden gem on the shores of Lake Pend Oreille in Hope, Idaho. It is an old campground with rough, uneven roads to the campsites, but the owner is exceptionally friendly and takes great pride in ownership. The sites are level-ish, but on grass, so getting level can be tricky if the ground is wet. The park is pet-friendly, and deer and turkeys roam freely through the campground. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, and the dock needs repair but is a great place to watch the sunsets. The park is located in a game preserve and is on the leeward side of the lake, making it cooler in summer and warmer in winter. There are lots of things to do and see in the area, including mountain trails, nature, scenic views, waterfalls, hiking, water sports, restaurants, an Amish bakery, and shopping.
