Ponderosa State Park is a beautiful campground located on the picturesque Payette Lake in McCall, Idaho. It offers a variety of camping experiences from full hookup sites in the Dogwood and Elderberry loops, to electric and water only sites in the Aspen, Blackberry and Chokecherry loops. The park is full of tall ponderosa and other pines, providing a magnificent canopy and background for enjoying the outdoors. The sites are large and spaced well, with fire pits and picnic tables. The lake has a small swimming beach with difficult steps down to the water, and a hiking trail. The town of McCall is close by and offers plenty of restaurants, a full size grocery store, and good shopping choices. The park is open year round, and offers activities such as boating, fishing, and various water sports, as well as miles of hiking and biking trails. There is no Wifi or cable offered, and satellite reception may be tricky due to the numerous tall trees throughout the park.
