What others are saying
This campground is a hidden gem, located 5 miles off the highway, half paved and half a well maintained gravel packed road. It is managed by the BLM and is free to camp. There are 10 campsites surrounded by trees and water, split into a more developed tent area and a primitive tent area. The developed tent area has gravel pads, picnic tables, metal fire rings, and a halfdicap vault toilet near the entrance. The primitive sites have a wonderful rope swing that swings out over the creek. There are also several nice hiking trails that leave right from the campground. The creek that runs through the campground is very nice and the scenery is photo perfect. The road up is a bit steep but doable and there are two vault toilets that are both clean. There are also off road vehicles and horseback riding trails. Be aware that the entrance gate is tight and the first few sites dont get much shade in the middle of the day. People have also reported that some drive too fast on the dirt road. This is a great spot for those looking for a secluded, primitive camping experience with plenty of outdoor activities and stunning views.
