What others are saying about this campground
Scout Mountain Campground is a private campground located in the Caribou National Forest. It is a beautiful spot, high up in the pines and furs, with plenty of wildlife and scenic views. The campground has 13 reservable sites and approx 25 walk-in or first come, first serve sites. Each site is equipped with a picnic table, lantern stand, fire ring with attached grill, and a freestanding grill. There is a vault bathroom and water spigot close by, as well as a warming hut with basic furniture and a stove. There is also a pavilion with lighting and outlets for electricity-run items or RVs. The campground is handicap accessible and is well-maintained by the people and multiple clubs that care for the grounds. It is a 25-minute drive to town in case you forget something. The campground host generator can be loud and annoying on Sundays. The tree sap can be a nuisance, sticking to everything, but the campground hosts are outstanding and very helpful.
