GenieSummary

Very clean and well maintained. Bear Lake State Park is a peaceful and clean campground located 11 miles from St. Charles, ID. It offers a variety of sites with electric hookups, picnic tables, fire rings, and gravel pads. Most sites have a great view of the lake and surrounding mountains, and the night skies are filled with stars. The lake is a beautiful aquamarine color and the beach is sandy, with a gradual water depth that takes 50-60 yards to get waist deep. Dogs are allowed, but must be kept on a leash. There is a large picnic pavilion for group gatherings and a beach hang-out nearby where you can rent water sport gear. Wi-Fi is available for $29 for one year and can be used within any Idaho State Park. Unfortunately, no fires are allowed at this time. It is a great place to relax and absorb beauty, and is priced a little higher than other Utah State Parks.

From The Campground

Bear Lake State Park is located in the southeastern corner of Idaho near the Cache mountain range. Campsites for groups as large as 50 are available along with several serviced and standard sites. A popular destination for water lovers, Bear Lake welcomes about 15,000 campers annually. Bring your boat, your bathing suit, sunscreen, fishing rod and your water toys; Bear Lake is a water lover’s paradise. At 20 miles long and 8 miles wide, half of Bear Lake is located in Idaho, the other half in Utah. Known for its intense turquoise colored water, the lake is often called the Caribbean of the Rockies. A gradual slope to the lake bottom provides an enormous swimming area in the summer. In the winter, those with buckets and nets can ice fish for the Bonneville cisco, a fish found nowhere else on earth.
