Mendota Hills Campground is a family-friendly and relaxing campground located in the middle of cornfields. It offers 28 overnight sites with 30 and 50 amp service, as well as free fishing (catch and release for cats and bass, keep panfish if you like). The campground has a private fishing pond, a golf driving range, a swimming lake with inflatables and beach slide, and a country church on site. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the bathrooms are clean. However, the campground is mostly gravel and gets very dusty, and the electricity grid is ancient, which can cause the breaker to pop. The chiggers can be bad, and there are no sewage or bath houses near the short-term camping sites. The campground is popular with locals, but it is not designed for big rigs and can be difficult to level. The Wi-Fi is OK and there are activities on the weekends, but the campground is quiet during the week.

Mendota Hills Campground is a hidden gem located in beautiful Amboy, Illinois. The park offers 130 acres of wooded and open, peaceful land with only 200 sites. The campground provides rustic tent sites, water/electric sites (20/30/50 amp), water/electric (20/30/50 amp)/sewer/concrete sites, and rental campers. The amenities include a camp store, rental golf carts, and a variety of events throughout the year. The activities include hiking, fishing, swimming, and more. Discounts are available for military personnel and senior citizens.
