This campground is a great place for seasonal units or weekend campers looking for a safe, clean park near the metropolitan Chicago area. The owners are really great people and genuinely care about the customers and the campground, and they always have fun activities to participate in. The grounds are kept in great shape and there is a swimming beach, fishing, a Fourth of July parade and Bingo, a nice playground and game room. Half price ice cream and Saturday breakfast for $5 are also available. The roads leading to the campground are very narrow with little to no shoulder, so it is not suitable for overnight camping. Big rigs are doable but Crazy Horse Road is pretty narrow getting out to the campground. Unfortunately, the campground is now permanently closed and will be re-developed for office use.

Crazy Horse Campground is a family-oriented Illinois campground located north of Jacksonville and west of Springfield. The campground offers lots of space to run and play, with amenities such as stocked ponds for fishing, planned crafts and activities, live music on Saturdays, swimming, and a camp store that offers snacks, drinks, sundries, hot food, firewood, and ice. Reservations are highly recommended, particularly over holiday weekends. Outside firewood is not allowed, but firewood is available for purchase onsite.
