Boulder Campground is a beautiful family-friendly USACOE campground located on the COE Carlyle Lake Reservoir in southern Illinois. The campground is well maintained and updated, and the grounds are clean and well kept. The camp hosts are friendly and helpful, and the sites are spacious with plenty of room between neighbors. There are a variety of sites available, including electric-only sites, full hookup sites, and waterfront sites. The campground also offers biking trails, a dump station, a laundry room, a marina, and a small store. The views of the lake are lovely, and the area provides a nice breeze even during hot weather. There are plenty of first-come, first-serve sites available, and cell service is adequate. Unfortunately, there are no recycling facilities in the park and buffalo gnats can be an issue in the summer.
