Blue Heron Marina & Campground is Carterville's premier marina located on beautiful Crab Orchard Lake. Established in the early 1940s, the marina includes docks with 137 slips, a boat ramp, club house, and boat rental which includes pontoons, paddle boats, and canoes. The campground includes a clubhouse and electric sites, primitive tent camping, and a full-service shower house and dump station. The alcohol-free, family-oriented marina & campground is available to the public who choose to pay an annual user fee of $125 (approximately $10.00 per month). Users can enjoy access to the marina and campground, and can utilize the club house for events at no additional charge. In addition to users, people can become a shareholder with Blue Heron Marina & Campground. Shareholders pay a lifetime $125 fee in addition to the standard annual fee. They will enjoy events, at no extra charge, planned throughout the year, such as a Valentine Party, Easter Egg Hunt, Kid's Fish-Off, Kid's Fun Day, Fish Fry, Fall Party, and Christmas Party. Boat slips are available for users and shareholders. Call for boat rental fees and camping fees.
