What others are saying about this campground
Weldon Springs Campground is a great spot for a peaceful escape into nature. Campers can choose from tent and trailer sites, as well as primitive backpacking sites. The campground is well-spaced, with nice concrete fire rings and picnic tables at each site, although there are only a few pull-through sites and some size limitations for campers. The park has beautiful natural meadows, an old schoolhouse to explore, and a large pond with trails all the way around it. There are also boat rentals and plenty of good fishing spots, as well as a WWII memorial and a playground for the kids. The trails are lovely and the north, marshy end of the lake is a great spot for watching hummingbirds. The campground has decent shower houses, but unfortunately the hot water is currently broken. There are also a few horseshoe pits, although the campground is still quite secluded. Unfortunately, the bugs can be quite bad, especially raccoons, and there is no full service hookups. The campground is quite inexpensive, but the sites can be unlevel and the electric service can be finicky. The concession stand, bait shop and boat rental area is accessible from both the road and the trail, and there is a little restaurant on the lake with great, decently priced food.
