Sankoty Lakes is a new RV park in East Peoria, IL which opened up in 2021. The park has 21 RV sites with full hookup and 20, 30, and 50 amp hookups depending on your rig. The concrete pads are very large and the firepit is built with pavers and an insert. The grounds are nice, but as of this writing not fully complete. You can rent boats and fish as well. The RV area is only accessible by driving around the side of the complex and through a neighborhood, and then you have to wait for someone to come open the gate. Once in the park, it can be difficult to find the RV area and there should be more signage directing campers where to go. The park lacks mature trees so it can be hot during the summer and very windy being right on the lake, with no trees. However, the internet is super fast! There is a new restaurant called Sheets Creek Saloon located at the entrance of the park with decent food and drinks and an outside patio overlooking the lake. Overall, the park is well suited for RV travelers who want to stay in a quiet and spacious place with amenities and enjoy boating and fishing on the lake.
