Camp Lakewood Campground & RV Park in Effingham, IL is a great park situated in a park-like setting on a lake. One reviewer said its the type of place they would like to stay at for a 3 or 4 day camping experience. The lake is great for fishing and small boats. While some reviewers mentioned the sites could be a bit more level for a pull through site, getting into and out of the park and site was quite easy. All hookups reportedly work well. Bathrooms/showers and laundry were very clean. The park had a store with all the usual necessities. Many reviewers appreciated the clean and warm restrooms. WiFi worked well for those who needed it. The staff was pleasant and helpful. One reviewer mentioned they only stayed overnight but were pleasantly surprised by how remote it seemed.
