Sun Retreats Rock River is a well-maintained campground with plenty of activities and amenities to keep visitors busy. The grounds feature level concrete pads for RVs, with water, sewer, and electric conveniently placed. There are plenty of paved roads for biking, and an expansive lake with paddleboats, canoes, and swimming. For the kids, there are plenty of activities including a huge pool, mini-golf, pickle ball, and a playground with a bouncing pillow. There is also a dog park for furry friends. The campground is clean and neat, with friendly staff and a small store on site. The lake is overrun with algae in the summer, making it difficult to walk the dogs due to the abundance of goose poop. The resort has a community center building with an exercise room and two restrooms. Satellite signal can be difficult to get due to the trees, but the staff is helpful in finding a spot that works. The snack bar and store are open on weekends only, with limited hours. There are lots of insects, especially mosquitos and flies, making it difficult to sit or play outside after 5 pm. The sites are close together, making it difficult to navigate around the park and dodge all the golf carts.
