Comlara Park is a beautiful, peaceful, and rustic campground located near a lake. You can rent boats and kayaks to take out on the lake during the day and grills throughout the park to have a bbq at night with friends. There are a few playgrounds for the kids to stay busy as well as small marked trails and longer trails with a rougher terrain for those looking for a more adventurous experience. The camp sites are spread apart nicely with some moderate elevation change giving many great views of the lake. The sites are well spaced and the park is quiet, and easily accessed from I-39. About two thirds of the roads are oil and chip pavement, the rest is gravel. There is one main shower house and several single outhouse style men/women bathrooms scattered throughout. There is a visitors center with ice, firewood, and live bait for sale at reasonable prices. There is a swimming area with showers and dressing area, although it may be closed for the 2021 season. The campground also offers a military discount. The rustic tent sites are located on the opposite side of the lake from the RVs in an area called White Oak. Water faucets are sporadically placed around the park, and you may need to run a good 100 of hose to reach it. The single dump station is a good 3/4 miles away from the camp. The campground is overpriced for what it has to offer, but its still a convenient stopover if you need a place to spend the night.
