Lake Jacksonville is a 500-acre lake located just 3 miles south of the city. It is a popular spot for boating, skiing, fishing, and other water activities. The lake is filled with bass, bluegill, and other sport fishing fare. Camping and fully equipped concession are available. Lake Jacksonville was named the number one fishing spot in Illinois by Field and Stream in 2007.
