This campground is a hidden gem located in a small Illinois town, offering picturesque Americana. It is situated directly on a lake, with a well-maintained walking trail and boat launch. The campground has level, very clean sites with water and electric hookups, as well as a few pull-through sites. There is a shower house and small laundry facility, and wifi fiber is being installed. There is a large childrens playground, a primitive cabin, and tent camping. The owners are friendly and helpful, and the rates are excellent. The park is full of friendly, seasonal campers and is kept neat and tidy. There is a lakeside pavilion with a memory garden, and a 2-mile walk around the lake with sights and sounds of birds, frogs, and turtles. The only downside is the older push-button showers that are too hot and the temperature cant be regulated.
