There were plenty of fire pits, picnic tables, and a beach. The beach was nice, but there was a lot of debris in the water and the sand was a bit rocky. Moraine Hills Campground is a great spot for a quick getaway or a longer stay. Located less than 5 miles from Gibson City, this campground offers plenty of activities for all ages. Enjoy the lake for fishing, kayaking, and boating, or take a hike on one of the many trails. The campground has spacious sites, plenty of room to wander, and separate equine campground areas. Rent a small boat or kayak for fun in the daytime, or enjoy a meal at the food shack. On the weekends, the swimming beach is open for visitors to enjoy. Make sure to book far enough in advance for a waterfront site, and bring your own water as the potable water tank must be filled before the entrance. The bathrooms are clean but the beach may be covered in spots with geese droppings. The camp hosts are friendly and accommodating, and there is a family movie night on Saturdays. Be aware that the campground can get quite crowded, especially on the weekends and holidays.
