Camp a While in Lincoln, IL is a small and well-maintained park with friendly and welcoming staff. The owners were very helpful and met us at the gate when we arrived. They checked in on us during a frost warning and made sure we were prepared. The park is located near a small town with all the necessities close by, and a large laundromat is available in the area. The park is located in a quiet rural area surrounded by farmland, leaving you with a peaceful and beautiful view of crop land and sunsets and sunrises. The grounds are clean and neatly cared for, and there are plenty of places for dog walks. This park is perfect for a 2-day stopover, it has some electric only sites, but no showers or bathrooms. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.
From The Campground
Camp A While is a privately owned, postage-stamp sized campground with only 11 sites off historic Route 66 in Lincoln, IL. The campground has an abundance of tall trees for shade and is surrounded by corn and soybean fields on a paved county highway. They are open year-round and offer water to fill your RV and a dump station to empty your tanks if a full hook-up site is not available. They do not have any bathroom facilities. The campground is located just outside the small town of Lincoln, where you will find a cute and inviting downtown with plenty of shopping and restaurants, and a 24 hr Wal-Mart. Just 2 miles down the road you will find Kickapoo state park. The campground is one of the first stops on Route 66 heading west from Chicago to Santa Monica, California!
