What others are saying about this campground
Nauvoo State Park is a rustic, wooded campground located close to the historic town of Nauvoo. It is perfect for small campers and pop-ups, but not suitable for large RVs. The park has a few treeless pads with full hookups, but reservations are recommended. The roads are narrow and twisty, and the power pedestals are covered in heavy rust. The main power box is rust coated and hanging open during heavy rain. The bath house is newer and in good shape, and there are hydrants scattered around for water. Pit toilets are not lit and can be yucky. The campground is kept clean and well-maintained, and the forest is beautiful with eagles in the trees. The park ranger is friendly and helpful, and the town is a great historic location with amazing people. It is a great place to visit if you are interested in the Mormon religion.
