Starved Rock Family Campground is a new campground located in North Utica, IL, and was perfect for our needs when we passed by on our trip. The campground is only about five minutes away from the interstate and around ten minutes from downtown Utica and the Starved Rock Lodge. They do not have Wi-Fi but the cellular service was good enough for internet access. The bathrooms are limited to portables. The water had a minor issue but the owners were quick to fix it. The owners are very friendly, hardworking, and are working towards expanding their services. It is recommended to not follow the GPS upon exiting I-80. The campground is big rig-friendly with lots of great, well-maintained sites. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. There are many different areas to walk dogs, including a short walk through the woods over a bridge and down to the creek. The nearest town, Peru, is around a 10-minute drive away and has all kinds of stores, fuel, and restaurants. The State Park is a couple of miles away and is great for hiking. We would definitely consider returning!
