Deer Grove Forest Preserve Campground is the perfect spot for suburban camping in the Norwest suburb of Palatine. Located in the Cook County Forest Preserve District, the campground is well maintained and offers a range of amenities including a small camping store, communal kitchen, fire pits, and clean bathrooms. The campground is easily accessible from Chicago and is a great getaway for city dwellers. Grocery stores and modern conveniences are minutes away. The campground has access to the entire Deer Park preserve and its paved cycling and walking trails. RV spots are concrete, flat, and easy to get into. The preserve is beautiful, with forested sections, open fields, and lilly pad covered ponds. The staff are friendly and helpful, and are on site 24 hours a day. They will bring a hose to your site for a water fill up. The campground is secure, with a gate that is closed at 10pm every night and opened again in the morning. The campground is centrally located to major roads and the Palatine Metra train station. There is a small amount of road noise, but it is not noticeable after rush hour. The campground has pavilions, air conditioned/heated dining hall, shower building, and restrooms. There are 5 RV sites, 2 paved and 3 gravel. There are plenty of paved and dirt trails throughout the grounds, and lots of fun little off-shoots into the woods. The campground also offers classes like Camping 101, and rents equipment like bicycles and snowshoes. It is an ideal spot for nature lovers looking for a convenient way to visit Chicago.

Camp Reinberg is a beautiful campground located in Palatine, IL. The campground offers a variety of camping options including tent sites, RV/tent sites, large cabins, and small cabins. The tent sites feature 10' x 10' mulched tent pads with timber edges, picnic tables, and fire rings with grates. The RV/tent sites feature 12' x 40' combined gravel parking spaces and gravel tent pads with timber edges, 30/50 amp electric systems, picnic tables, and fire rings with grates. The large cabins can accommodate up to 10 people and feature heat and air-conditioning, bunk beds for eight people, single beds for two people in a separate room, ceiling fans, private, accessible restrooms with toilets, showers, and two sinks, porches, picnic tables, and fire rings with grates. The small cabins can accommodate up to 8 people and feature bunk beds for eight people, ceiling fans, porches, picnic tables, and fire rings with grates. The campground also features an accessible bathroom/shower building with a roll-in shower with a bench as well as an accessible changing area with a bench. Additionally, the campground offers accessible parking, path of travel to and around the campsites, raised fire pits, and accessible picnic tables. The campground also offers a dining hall rental that can accommodate up to 103 people and includes tables, chairs, and use of the kitchen.
