There are a variety of campsites to choose from, ranging from rustic sites right on the riverbank to more secluded spots in the nearby pine forest. The campground is well maintained and the hosts are friendly and helpful. There are showers and an indoor restroom, as well as a dump station and potable water. Fishing, kayaking, and hiking are all popular activities here. There is also a nearby Pecatonica river, and the nearby towns of Monroe and Galena offer a variety of attractions, including the National Cheese Museum and Alp & Dell Chees works. Unfortunately, the mosquitos can be quite bad, so be sure to bring a screen house if you plan to stay for a while.
