Fish Lake Beach Camping Resort is a well-maintained park with a mix of RV sites, most of which are water and electric only, as well as an extended stay section. The gatehouse is always well-staffed, and the staff is generally friendly and helpful. The park is close to a large grocery store, which is convenient for campers. Guests enjoy the well-maintained bathhouse with very nice showers. The park also has a lake for fishing, but a license is required. The park charges a $6 fee per visitor, regardless of whether or not they use the facility, which might seem steep. Some reviewers noted that the electrical power to the podium was an issue as it ranged from 106 - 115 volts, and brown-outs were common, so campers need to manage their usage. Additionally, the price per kWh is higher than typical COMED charges. There were some comments about vehicles with long-expired registration tags driving around. Also, some reviewers expressed their disappointment with the campgrounds lack of a no political/protest flag policy. Nonetheless, despite these concerns, Fish Lake Beach Camping Resort remains a popular destination for campers in the Chicagoland area, especially on weekends.

Fish Lake Camping Resort is one of the largest privately owned campgrounds in Illinois, occupying the majority of 113 acres. The sprawling property has 580 seasonal campsites and 60 overnight campsites. The overnight camping season runs from May 1st through October 14th. Campers can bring their own RV or tent, or rent a park model for 2-14 days. All campsites feature water and electric hook-ups along with a picnic table and fire pit. Select sites have sewer hook-ups. The campground offers amenities such as laundry facilities, restrooms & showers, WiFi, fishing piers, an off-leash dog park, and concessions. Fish Lake Beach is dog-friendly, however, park model rentals are strictly pet-free and smoke-free. The campground offers activities such as dances on the beach, kids crafts, and movies at the pool all through the season. Fishing enthusiasts can fish for bluegill, crappie, bass, northern pike, bass, catfish, stripers, carp. The heated pool, kiddie pool, hot tub, beach, lake swimming, and boat rentals are just a few amenities campers enjoy. Fish Lake Beach concessions sell firewood, bagged ice, snacks, slushees, ice cream, souvenirs, and more!
