Hickory Grove Campground is a hidden gem located off I-80 in Sheffield, Illinois. This campground is owned by Joan and Dave since 2017 and they have made great strides in improving it with plans for expansion. The campground is surrounded by lush green grass, tall corn fields, hedges and large trees, creating a peaceful and picturesque atmosphere. The sites are pull through, grass and gravel, and level with good distance between neighbors. Full hook ups are well placed for a Class A motorhome with the car left attached. The campground is also connected to the Hennepin Canal with its tow trail for bikes and walkers. There is no WiFi at the campground, but ATT 5G cell service is good, making it possible to use iPads or stream HD movies. The campground also has a playground, a boat ramp and dock, and a live trap for loan to help catch lost animals. The only downside is that there is only one shower house for the entire campground, which looks old and nasty. Despite this, Hickory Grove Campground is a great place to stay and relax, with the only sound being frogs and crickets at night.

Located on the border of the Hennepin Canal and Hennepin Canal State Park, we are 2 miles North of I80, and just five minutes from Psycho Silo Saloon, the Hickory Grove Campground is your jump off point for all of the area’s activities. Easy in and out Big rig friendly and that we can accommodate 80’ . The 80 mile long bike trail borders the campground with easy access. Hickory Grove offers all aspects of camping from overnight to seasonal. We are on the Great American Rail-Trail for Biking and hiking. Get out and ride
