From The Campground

Lake Shelbyville is a well-known destination for outdoor enthusiasts, located in east-central Illinois. The lake offers a wide variety of activities including fishing, hunting, hiking, camping, and swimming. The lake consists of 11,100 acres of water and 23,000 acres of land, with numerous public boat launching facilities, several public swimming beaches, and 3 marinas. Camping opportunities are available in 6 federal campgrounds and 2 state parks. The lake is also known for its excellent crappie fishing. Visitors can also enjoy the Lake Shelbyville Visitor Center and participate in NRM partnerships and volunteer opportunities. Age and disability discount passes are available.
