It offers a variety of camping options, from tent sites to RV sites, and even buddy sites for larger groups. The campsites are level and there is plenty of space between them to ensure a quiet night. The campground is well-maintained by the Corps of Engineers and features a large playground, a great beach for swimming, a trail for hiking, and plenty of fishing spots. The camp store, Castaways at Coon Creek, is stocked with all the necessary supplies for camping and fishing, as well as some fun items. The roads to the campground are narrow and winding, but the views of the cornfields are beautiful. The campground has a few full hookup sites, but the restrooms and showers need some work and cleaning. The campground is also great for boating, as Lithia Springs Marina offers boat rentals. There are plenty of paths down to the waters edge, and the beach is great for swimming. The LEDLENSER, MH2, Headlamp is perfect for exploring the area at night. With its adjustable light span, on/off and intensity switch, and light weight, it is a great tool for nighttime activities. Make sure to bring a screen tent to keep the bugs away at night. Overall, Coon Creek Campground is a great place to spend a weekend camping.
