What others are saying about this campground
Lithia Springs Campground is a great place to stay on the shores of beautiful Lake Shelbyville. The campground is run by the Corps of Engineers and is well maintained with clean shower houses and restrooms, a boat ramp, picnic areas, a small swimming beach and very nice lakeside campsites. All sites have picnic tables, fire rings with grates and most also have a lantern stand. The marina here is great with boat gas, fishing equipment, bait, snacks and other items you might need in a pinch. There are also cabins and motel rooms with a kitchen near the park entrance if you have a desire for that kind of lodging. The campground is relatively flat with plenty of old growth trees and the beautiful Lake Shelbyville. The park is also pretty quiet with the exception of a distant freight train. There are plenty of toilet bldgs, but they are in need of updating and better ventilation, could be cleaned better. There is no camp store but the town of Shelbyville is only three miles away and has a Super Wal-Mart and several other shops and restaurants. The CG is convenient to town, and there is a very nice grocery store down the road from a Wal-Mart. No campstore in the park but nearby a little store sells ice, etc., and a house down the road sold large stacks of firewood for $10. It is recommended to fill your tanks as you enter so you won’t need to get water during your stay for the sites on the point, those do not have full hookups. If camping on weekends May to September will need to book it n advanced. Great place to bring the kids and dads fishing boat.
