The site was not level, and the friend had to move to another site. This campground is located in the heart of Springfield and is a great base for exploring the city and all its attractions. It features over 300 sites, with a mix of grassy, level spots with 30 amp hookups and paved parking lots with sites right on top of each other with 50 amp service. There is a bus that departs from the corner of Sangamon and 8th to downtown, and the campground is close to restaurants, shopping centers and parks. It is also conveniently located near the state Capitol and other points of interest. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the campground is secure with security present and a fenced-off area from nearby neighborhoods. There is no WiFi but Verizon broadband works well. The dump station is somewhat inconveniently located past the campground office, and the cleaning water piping is not usable.
