The gate staff are helpful and friendly, and the Lake View trail is a good and tough hike. Bring your own mattress if staying in a cabin, and bring your own antibacterial hand soap. Be aware that the campground is often closed for one reason or another, so keep up with the news.

Deam Lake offers recreational activities such as fishing, boating, swimming, camping, picnicking, hiking and hunting in designated areas. The 194-acre lake was constructed in 1965 and was named in honor of Charles Deam, Indiana's first state forester.
