What others are saying about this campground
Tipsaw Recreation Area is the perfect spot for a family or large group camping trip in the beautiful rolling hills of southern Indiana. With several campgrounds to choose from including Catbrier Loop, Goldenrod, Primrose, and Jackpine Loop, there is something for everyone. Enjoy a swim in Tipsaw Lake, a hike to Hemlock Cliffs and its sandstone rock formations, or a leisurely stroll along the 5.9 mile Tipsaw Trail. The beach area features a bathhouse, small pavilions, paved walkways, and a play area for the kids. There is also a boat launch, a dump station, and a picnic area with a pit toilet. The campground is conveniently located near I-64 (exit 79) and the nearby town of Tell City offers amenities such as stores and fast food. Be sure to bring bug spray as ticks can be bad due to recent rain. South Slope Loop is another campground in the area with electric sites, a showerhouse, water points, picnic tables, and fire rings. Enjoy fishing at Indian and Celina Lakes, take a stroll along the 1 mile interpretive trail, or explore the Rickenbaugh house. This is a peaceful and low key spot, perfect for those looking for a secluded and quiet camping experience.
