What others are saying
The bathrooms were clean and well maintained. The only downside was that the sites are close together and there is no privacy. Lieber State Recreation Area is a beautiful park located in Indiana with a 1400 acre lake at its center. It is a great spot for fishing, swimming, and other recreational activities such as hiking and ranger programs. The campground is full of trees and offers large lots, a camp store, firewood, ice, sundries, boat rental, and a recently updated dump station and potable water access area. There is also a seasonal aquatic center with a zero entrance pool and water slide, a nature center, numerous shelters, playgrounds, and picnic areas. The only downside is that the sites are close together and there is no privacy. During our stay, we experienced minimal services, but the people were friendly and the bathrooms were clean and well maintained. There were also plenty of spots for larger rigs and many of them were fairly level with asphalt pads. However, this park is not ideal for those used to fancy campgrounds with WiFi, cable, etc. and the roads are narrow and have tight turns. Additionally, the water faucets are not threaded for hoses and there were a lot of insects in the womens restroom due to the missing screens.

From The Campground

Lieber State Recreation Area is a beautiful 8,075-acre park in Indiana, featuring a 1,400-acre lake called Cagles Mill Lake. The lake was built in 1952 as Indiana's first flood control reservoir, protecting the Eel and White river watersheds. The park is home to beautiful Cataract Falls, which resulted from two pre-glacial bedrock ridges buried beneath ancient lake sediments of the Illinoisan glacial period. The park has a state-of-the-art Aquatic Center, which is open during the Memorial Day to Labor Day recreation season. The Aquatic Center has a zero entrance pool, water bubblers, and a tornado water slide. There are also shelters, a volleyball court, and a playground. Other family fun opportunities include hiking trails, boat access to Cagles Mill Lake, and a campground. The 115 Class A and 94 Class B campsites make this a lovely place to visit. Plan a picnic in the activities field, where you will find horseshoe pits, basketball courts, and plenty of play areas for the kids. For additional information and for Aquatic Center hours, please contact the property office at 765-276-0194.
