GenieSummary

Sugar Creek Campground & Canoe Rentals is a beautiful, well-maintained smaller campground situated next to a canoe and rafting river, in a tree-lined valley. The park is far from the interstate, but it is worth the drive. The owners are really friendly and family-owned, and they are on-site. The rules are clearly communicated, and the service is really great. The park feels secluded and safe, thanks to a gating system. The sites and roads are level with packed gravel. There are pull-throughs, buddy sites, and back in sites along the creek. The park offers plenty of shade under big sprawling trees and lots of green grass. The creek is beautiful and perfect for kayaking. We rented kayaks for a 3-mile adventure and had a great time. There are plenty of cheap and plentiful firewood available. The park is close to anything you would need, but you feel like youre in your own world. Theres no wifi, but cell service is really great so you can use data if needed. Some spaces are really narrow, but its mitigated by having enough space behind the pad for a fire ring and water views. Getting into the site could be challenging if the park is full, but its doable with some patience. Aside from this, the park is very clean and well-maintained, and its perfect for an enjoyable and relaxing camping experience.
